Q: Will we have the cottage to ourselves?
A: Yes. The manager will meet you on arrival and after that, the venue is all yours to come and go as you please. YHA staff sometimes live on site in a separate area but won’t invade your privacy.

Q: Are we expected to clean the lodge?
A: Cleaning materials are provided and all we ask is that you leave the venue clean and tidy. You aren’t expected to mop the floor or scrub the bathroom!

Q: Our school reunion has over 80 people, is there somewhere big enough?
A: Many locations are suitable for larger groups and make great party venues.

Q: Haw far in advance should I book for Christmas and New Year?
A: Our cottages are very popular over Christmas and New Year. You should book as early as possible. However, even if it’s November a few venues may still be available - check out the late availability.

Q: Is there a catering service?

Q: I’ve never stayed in an Escape to cottage before, what facilities can I expect?
A: Visit the facilities section for more information.

Q: Is Escape to available all year?
A: It's generally available between October and Easter. A number of locations are available outside this period, Tel: 0800 0191 700 to check.

Q: We’re looking for a base with adventure nearby – what can you recommend?
A: Many venues have activities nearby. Okehampton, a licensed activity centre, can tailor a programme of activities especially for you.

Q: Are cots and highchairs provided?
A: Many venues are great for family gatherings, offering cots, highchairs and small rooms with wash basin and bedside lights. Contact us and we’ll find the venue which best meets your needs.

Q: Where can I go for a quiet, rural break?
A: You can Escape to National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Sites. The most remote is Black Sail , a shepherd’s bothy surrounded by hills in the Lake District.

Q: Are there venues in urban areas too?
A: Yes, you can Escape to bustling towns, including Leominster and Great Yarmouth .

Q: Is Escape to suitable for a post exam party?
A: Escape to is great for parties and that’s fine by us, as long as the centre is left clean and tidy. Let us know that you’re planning a party when you book, as some venues with close neighbours aren't suitable.

Q: Are there single and double rooms?
A: Some have single and double beds. Details of room sizes are included in the individual venue pages.

Q: Is Escape to suitable for organised groups?
A: It's great for groups such as social, cycling or walking groups. Tell us the details of your trip and we’ll help you find your ideal location.

Q: There’s only 12 people in our group, is Escape to still on option?
A: There are plenty of smaller cottages with less than 20 beds, but renting somewhere larger may give your group more flexibility for little extra cost.

Q: Can mum’s Assistance Dog come too?
A: Yes, there are no restrictions on Registered Assistance Dogs.

Q: Are Escape to venues accessible for people using a wheelchair?
A: One of our most accessible is Medway , but talk to us about your degree of mobility to help you find a suitable location.
